Following strong demand for the South African-exclusive 3 Series and X3 Mzansi Editions, BMW has given the Mzansi Edition treatment to its popular 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe.
Selected derivatives of these models will now be available with the Mzansi Edition specification pack, bringing a sportier look and enhanced features at a more affordable price than if they were to be optioned individually.
What you get
BMW has equipped its new 1 Series Mzansi Editions with a raft of stylish upgrades over the standard models, including a high-gloss black grille and surrounding frames, front spoiler, side sills, and rear spoiler.
M Carbon mirror caps, red M Sport brakes, light-alloy wheels, and black chrome tailpipes add more sporty flair – and on the 128ti specification, standard fitment also includes a carbon rear diffuser.
Inside the cabin, upgrades comprise Sports seats with Trigon/Sensatec upholstery, black M seat belts, a glass sliding roof, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional infotainment system, and an upgraded stereo. The 128ti continues to be set apart here, too, offering its buyers black and red Cloth/Sensatec seats.
Every 1 Series Mzansi Edition is then available in Alpine White, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, and Black Sapphire Metallic.
The 118i can also be had in Melbourne Red Metallic and Misano Blue Metallic, while the 128ti is offered in a model-specific Storm Bay Blue Metallic.
Likewise, updates to the 2 Series Gran Coupe Mzansi Edition are equally extensive, the four-door now featuring a high-gloss black kidney grille and spoiler, Black Chrome tailpipes, M Carbon mirror caps, red M Sport brakes, and 19-inch double-spoke M light-alloy wheels.
The enhanced interior appointments comprise black Sports seats and M seat belts, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a panoramic glass sliding roof, and an upgraded sound system.
For its exterior hues, the 2 Series is offered in Alpine White and the metallic Skyscraper Grey, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, and Misano Blue.
