New Renault Triber Express – South African pricing and specifications
Renault has unveiled a new panel van derivative of its popular Triber MPV line with a starting price of R291,900.
The panel van gets the name Triber Express and incorporates the body and styling of its passenger-car counterpart while offering a large loading bay for everyday tasks.
Specifications
The Express’ rear loading bay has a volume of 1,500 litres and is capable of carrying a payload of up to 542kg.
Furthermore, the interior is lined with several storage containers, including a lower glove box and centre console, which adds another 31 litres of space.
The rear tray is also lined with steel mesh to add safety and improve the durability of the van.
The Triber’s 14-inch wheels then give it a ground clearance of 182mm, and its roof rails can accommodate a load of up to 50kg.
Exterior additions include C-shaped LED daytime-running lights and SUV-style skid plates have been fitted to protect the Renault on rougher terrains.
Unique Express branding has also been added to the front driver and passenger doors to further differentiate the vehicle from the standard model, and the body structure has been reinforced to increase its load-carrying capabilities.
Features on the new model include a six-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-tone interior with a chrome-lined dashboard, digital instrument cluster, electric windows, and a Bluetooth sound system.
Furthermore, the Express offers rear park distance control, ABS, dual airbags, a gear shift indicator, and a speed recommender for optimum fuel efficiency.
It also uses the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as the standard Triber, delivering 52kW and 96Nm to the front axle.
In combination with a five-speed manual transmission, the Express manages 5.5l/100km on a combined fuel cycle.
Pricing
The new Renault Triber Express has a South African starting price of R291,900.
This includes a 5-year/150,000km mechanical warranty, and a 2-year/30,000km service plan.
