South African motorists still have a lot to look forward to this year, as there are 11 different Mercedes-Benz cars that are expected to launch before the end of 2023.
It has been a busy start to the year for the Stuggart-based automaker, as six different models have already landed on local shores within the first five months of 2023, including vans, battery-electrics, and AMG derivatives.
January welcomed the addition of the EQE, one of the many cars under the brand’s EQ line of electric vehicles (EVs) that form part of South Africa’s small but growing fleet of battery-powered cars.
At launch, the EQE was only available as a sedan, but later this year, the company will be introducing an SUV version for those who prefer the larger body type.
The same is true of the EQS, where an SUV alternative is expected to make landfall in the third quarter of the year.
On top of the electric models arriving in the near future, the country can cast its attention to the upcoming GLC Coupe, a sleeker version of the fan-favourite GLC that launched in April.
There’s also the facelifted GLE on the way, which is expected to arrive just before the end of the year.
On the (relatively) more affordable end of the scale, the new A-Class will be making an appearance in the next few months, as are the CLA sedan and GLA crossover.
If you’re more interested in what the AMG logo has in store, the sports division will be following up the launch of the GLB 35 and C43 with three new entries – the C63 S E Performance, GT63 S E Performance, and the SL.
Lots to come
These are all of the Mercedes-Benz cars that are still expected to make their debut in South Africa in 2023.
