New Tata Curvv launched in South Africa – Pricing and features
Tata has announced the pricing for its third car in as many days with the new Curvv.
The Curvv is a crossover coupe that serves as one of the more premium options in the carmaker’s new lineup, placing above the entry-level Tiago hatchback and Punch crossover.
It is available in three specifications, and prices start at R349,900.
Engine
Under the hood is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 88kW and 170Nm.
The base “Pure” model is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, which connectsw to the front wheels.
Alternatively, buyers can opt for the “Creative” or “Accomplished” grades, which swap out the manual for a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA) transmission.
The Curvv has driving modes for Eco, City, and Sport, and the DCA units have paddle shifters for greater control over the gear changes.
The manual achieves an average fuel consumption of 5.7l/100km, while the automatic averages a slightly higher 6.1l/100km.
Features

The new crossover is 4,308mm long, 1,810mm wide, and 1,635mm tall, putting it in the same territory as the Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser, or Citroen C3 Aircross.
The front end stands out thanks to a studded symmetrical grille and lower bumper, complemented by a horizontal daytime running light strip that seamlessly blends with the LED headlights.
The side profile is distinguished by the sleek coupe roofline, and is accentuated by a set of large black wheel arches and flush door handles.
At the back, you’ll see a prominent black bumper and a singular taillight bar that separates the roofline from the tailgate.
The tailgate is electric and grants access to a fairly spacious 500-litre boot.
Standard equipment on the Pure specification includes 16-inch steel wheels with dual-tone covers, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, fabric upholstery, manual aircon with rear vents, a multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a 45W USB Type-C charging port, a four-speaker JBL stereo, voice commands, a 4-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 7-inch infotainment screen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also comes with safety and assistance features such as ABS, cruise control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and six airbags.
Upgrading to the mid-range Creative will then add 17-inch alloy rims, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, and four more speakers.
The top-end Accomplished rounds things out with 18-inch alloys, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, an electric driver’s seat, one-touch auto up/down front windows, ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a sub-woofer, ambient lighting, a rear armrest, and leatherette upholstery.
