Chery has covertly reduced the starting price of its most affordable crossover in South Africa by a minimum of R10,000.
The Tiggo 4 Pro LiT Manual, introduced in late 2023 for R279,900, is now available for a slightly lower R269,900.
Likewise, the Tiggo 4 Pro LiT Automatic now retails for R299,900, reflecting a drop of R15,000.
Interestingly, it appears on the automaker’s website that it has also revised the line-up after the introduction of the Tiggo Cross, which in reality is the facelifted Tiggo 4 Pro.
However, the 4 Pro sold so well in South Africa that Chery saw no reason to replace it, hence, it positioned the Tiggo Cross higher up in the catalogue.
Previously available in 10 specifications, the Tiggo 4 Pro range has now been whittled down to six, not including the two panel van entries.

What you get
In manual guise, the base Tiggo 4 Pro LiT is now delivered with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights, keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel, a 3.5-inch multi-info driver’s display, manual aircon with rear-seat vents, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors, hill and downhill assist, and dual front airbags.
Stepping up to the automatic LiT variants adds cruise control, electric folding mirrors, tyre-pressure monitoring, and a reverse camera.
Onto the mid-range Comfort spec, this model brings leather upholstery, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, voice control, six airbags instead of two, and 17-inch alloys.
If you’re going for the flagship Elite, you can additionally expect LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a sunroof, an electric driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, two extra speakers for a total of six, and 360-degree cameras.

As before, the Chery is still sold with either a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated (NA) petrol block or a turbocharged version of the same powerplant.
The NA variants generate 83kW and 138Nm, and is paired with either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Fuel consumption for the manual comes in at 7.0l/100km and for the CVT at 6.8l/100km.
The turbocharged mill puts out 108kW and 210Nm and can be matched with either a CVT or a new six-speed, dual-clutch (DCT) automatic box, with fuel usage ranging between 6.7-6.8l/100km.
The turbocharged Tiggo 4 Pros also provide Standard, Eco, and Sports driving and steering settings.
