Jetour has officially launched in South Africa with two SUVs, the Dashing and the X70 Plus.
The Dashing starts at R439,900 while the larger seven-seater X70 goes for R454,900.
The Chinese automaker also has plans to introduce several other models in the future, including a 4×4.
WeBuyCars’ first-of-its-kind car registration system a big success
WeBuyCars’ online motor vehicle registration and notice of change of ownership system has been a big success in South Africa.
The system was launched in August 2023 as a way to streamline car registrations and changes of ownership.
This service was previously managed exclusively by the Road Traffic Management Corporation, which required motorists to physically visit centres to collect documents.
Trouble for car insurers in South Africa
Credit agency TransUnion’s latest Insurance Trends Survey shows that the majority of South Africans either have or are interested in replacing their car insurers.
Additionally, 55% of survey respondents said they had changed companies once they discovered a better provider.
The dissatisfaction with car insurers is primarily due to high premiums, though others were more interested in improved customer service.
New entry-level Nissan Navara double cab for South Africa
Nissan is expanding its Navara bakkie range for South Africa with a new double cab.
Based on the Navara XE single cab, the incoming model will serve as an entry-level five-seater intended to broaden the bakkie’s appeal.
The Navara’s success is critical to Nissan South Africa, as it is now the sole product being made at the company’s factory in Gauteng.
New Suzuki Swift – South African pricing announced
Suzuki has finally announced the local pricing for the next-gen Suzuki Swift.
The popular hatchback is expected to start at R219,900 once it hits showrooms, though the brand noted that this may be subject to change
The Swift will go on sale in October in a total of five specifications.
