Jaguar hasn’t sold a new car in South Africa for over a year.

The luxury British carmaker is in the midst of a massive rebranding campaign, pivoting towards an all-new roster of new-energy vehicles.

Consequently, Jaguar has ceased global production of all of its old models, such as the E-Pace and F-Type. Its first new car, the Type 01, is set to be unveiled later this year.

However, it must be noted that Jaguar Land Rover still operates in South Africa, selling dozens of Land Rover and Range Rover units every month.


Better news about petrol and diesel prices in South Africa

The anticipated petrol and diesel prices for June in a much better position than they were earlier this month.

According to the latest data from the Central Energy Fund, petrol is likely to increase by 13c per litre, while diesel will see a reduction of R4.71 per litre.

While petrol is still expected to go up next month, this is a substantial improvement from earlier reports, which indicated petrol would increase by close to R1 per litre.

TotalEnergies is in the firing line over claims that its Excellium diesel 10 product improves engine performance and delivers environmental benefits.

A consumer organisation lodged a complaint against TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa’s Excellium Diesel 10 claims with the Advertising Regulatory Board.

“There is no reference to the baseline fuel for comparison, no mention of the vehicle type, driving conditions, or geographic context,” it said.


Toyota’s first electric car goes on sale in South Africa – Pricing and features

Toyota has finally launched its first fully-electric car in South Africa.

The bZ4X is a battery electric vehicle (BEV) that has been in the pipeline for our market for several years, finally making its debut this past weekend at Toyota South Africa Motors’ inaugural Matsuri Festival at Kyalami in Gauteng.

It is now available in a single specification at a starting price of R1,182,800.

The Kia Tasman sold 31 units in its first month on the market in South Africa, according to industry sales data from Naamsa.

The Tasman is a new double-cab aiming to compete in the country’s growing segment for upmarket bakkies.

It is available in three specifications, and prices start at R679,995.
