Every new car that went on sale in South Africa in the last 3 months

South African motorists are spoilt for choice when it comes to new cars, because at least 27 models have been launched in the last three months.
This includes special-edition units, major overhauls for existing entries, and entirely new cars that are sure to be a hit with the masses.
Bakkie fans were treated to the Isuzu D-Max 45, a unique model celebrating the brand’s 45 years in South Africa, and the GWM P500 – the flagship of the increasingly popular P-Series.
On the affordable end of the spectrum, Hyundai and Mahindra both introduced an entry-level crossover while VW ushered in the latest version of the best-selling Polo Vivo.
South Africa also welcomed its newest and cheapest electric car in the form of the Dayun Yuehu S5, which has lowered the cost of entry for the technology to R400,000.
The hatchback scene saw the addition of another Audi A1, and the facelifted Hyundai i20, and a solitary sedan was launched in the last three months – namely the two-door Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet.
Of course, crossovers and SUVs were the segment that received by far the most attention, as 19 out of the 27 entries assumed this body shape.
It’s a diverse roster, too, ranging from a light commercial panel van for the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro to updates for the luxurious VW Touareg, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport.
Lots to choose from
