New crossovers and SUVs that launched in South Africa in 2023
Car manufacturers are capitalising on the rapid rise in popularity of crossovers and SUVs in South Africa, launching over 70 new vehicles in the country in 2023 that fall into one of these categories.
From Alfa Romeo to Ferrari to Land Rover to VW, almost every brand introduced a new SUV over the past twelve months in every price bracket.
The most affordable model we got was the Citroen C3 at R229,900, whereas the most expensive one that arrived on local shores was the R9.7-million Ferrari Purosangue.
Additionally, a host of battery-powered SUVs entered the country including two from BMW and Mercedes-Benz each, and one from Jaguar and Chinese automaker BYD, respectively.
The Malaysian Proton X90 also made its debut, in the process becoming the most affordable seven-seater hybrid SUV in the country.
If none of these are what you’re after, well, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy among the dozens of other choices that flooded the crossover and SUV categories in 2023.
